Press Release of Amal Group Board Meeting – March 2008
The Amal Board successfully concluded its Annual Meeting in Dubai. The Board reviewed the performance of the Amal Group of Companies during 2007 with satisfaction. It noted substantial progress all in terms of business outreach, completion of development projects and increased revenues. The Board particularly welcomed the opening of the Amal Plazas in Bosaso, Galkayo and Mogadishu, all of which added to the value of the Group.
The Board thanked the Amal management, staff, investors and Amal Agents worldwide for their positive contributions to the performance and progress of the Group in 2007 and looks forward to greater efforts and growth.
The Board outlined new development resolutions for the coming years, including the following:
1. Amal Corporate restructuring to meet with the governance, legal and customer requirements of the 21st century;
2. To review and update all legal and regulatory compliance requirements at all Amal branches and Amal Agents worldwide;
3. To engage in more interactive consultations and cooperation with Amal Agents and investors with a view to improving company performance and maximizing revenue for all the stakeholders; and
4. Along with its investors and agents, the Group will look into possibilities of diversification and new business projects in Somalia, East Africa, Southern Africa, the Gulf, etc.
Amal will remain in close touch with all its partners and customers and offers the best service the market offers.
