Agent Selection Criteria & Policy
Amal Express works through a wide network of more than 300 payment outlets in North America, Europe, Middle East and Australia. Our policy requires the appointment of agents that are considered ‘fit and proper’.
Agency applications received from prospective agents are reviewed by Management to ascertain applicant’s honesty, integrity and reputation based on information provided in accordance with the Financial Services Authority (FSA) agent form.
The review process includes contacting references, performing a background and/or credit check, and confirming identity through the receipt and examination of identification documents. When all required documentation is received and following a satisfactory review of the application, the applicant is offered a contract as agent. Upon their acceptance, the agent is provided with current copies of the Anti-Money Laundering/Combating Terrorist Financing (AML/CTF) Compliance Program.
The Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO) will request the correspondent to establish the agent on the online money transfer computer system and provide access to conduct transactions once all material requirements have been met by the agent.
AMAL is most concerned with the Agent’s demonstrated commitment to adhere to its AML/CTF program, policies and procedures
